RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF 80 DWELLINGS RACKHEATH NORFOLK

Project Description

A development of 80 units accessed from a County A class highway. A Transport Statement report was required as part of the planning application for the site.

BHA Consultings Commission

BHA were commissioned to prepare a Transport Statement for a proposed residential development located to the north of Salhouse Road, Rackheath. The Transport Statement was undertaken to ensure the development was sustainable and did not have a detrimental impact on the existing highway network.

A review of the proposed developments accessibility to various destinations such as work, shops and education facilities was undertaken. The review included an assessment of public transport infrastructure as well as opportunities for cycling and walking.

The Transport Statement included the initial design of the site access onto Sahouse Road and included the submission of a Stage 1 Safety Audit. All offsite works were negotiated and agreed with Norfolk County Council and included a footpath widening and cycleway link along the Salhouse Road as well as upgrading work to the existing bus stop to ensure compliance with Disability Discrimination Act requirements.
